Another Dream

For the past few weeks I’ve been battling double pneumonia and because of this intricate set-back I keep my Bible and a copy of Pride and Prejudice in the bed with me. However, my Bible gets most of my attention but I can’t help but be succumbed by Elizabeth’s feeling for Darcey and the stubbornness she portrays so well……… Ok! I know! I’m not going to indulge in my shade of epilogue on a story we all know too well. But nonetheless the book lies next to me.

I do want to share the dream I had last night. It was quite disturbing, yet ended with me feeling like I was leaving my body and I woke up with tears soaking my face and the name Jesus rolling off my lips:

It started with me and my family and a lot of friends gathered in a place that looked like Charleston, S.C. We were eating and laughing and talking about Heaven and how soon it would be and we would be there. The birds were chirping like I’ve never noticed before as if they knew something. The wind blew through the trees as if to be awakening them. I’ve never seen this before in nature and it caught me by surprise and I stood to my feet and felt something wasn’t right. At that very moment, the beautiful sunny sky disappeared and dark clouds rolled in fast. It began to rain. It didn’t start out lightly it came in viciously and within seconds, water began to rise around us.

We ran to our cars and I noticed there were those who became so afraid they froze and refused to run to safety. I was driving and all I could say was, “As it was in the days of Noah so will it be at the coming of the Son of Man.” That’s from Matthew 24:37. I drove to a huge bridge and as I got closer, I saw the bridge collapse. I turned and headed for high ground. I looked in my rear view mirror and buildings were already collapsing behind me. I kept driving until I came to what appeared to be a canyon. There were many people there. The rain had stopped and they were happy and full of joy. They ran up to the car and told us to get out because we were going to fly. I didn’t understand what they meant but I opened my car door and as soon as my feet touched the ground I could feel something happening in my body. They told us to run to the edge and not be afraid. They started running. So did we. I remember feeling so powerful and when I got to the edge I was not afraid at all and taking that step over the edge sent me flying into the atmosphere. I looked back and the world was smoking and was in chaos. I then turned to see all the people flying through the atmosphere and I looked beyond the masses, and to my amazement, there was Jesus. I felt my body transforming and I wanted so badly to beat everyone there and I yelled out JESUS! JESUS! JESUS! All I could see and feel was love like I’ve never known and then I woke up.

I’ve been having a lot of dreams lately, and they have been along these lines. I remember looking back to earth while flying through the atmosphere and there were so many people I knew that claimed to be Christian, yet they were left behind. There are so many who claim to love Jesus but it was so generic, more like lip service. There was no substance to their words and their testimony did not line up with their actions. There is a difference between knowing Jesus and knowing about Jesus. You can share a photo of a man with long hair and loving eyes perhaps holding sheep or children and we know that’s Jesus. But it’s not the same in knowing who and what He really is.

To truly know Jesus is to deny yourself and take up your cross and follow Him. Many folks don’t believe in God nor do they accept the fact His Son died on the cross for our sins. Eternity is real. Its imminent and we are sitting on the precipice of what awaits us. The bible says, “every knee shall bow and every tongue confess” that He is Lord. Even the most hardened atheist will bow and say those words in the very near future. We are in waiting right now and we need to get our house in order. We are living on borrowed time and God is giving us ample opportunity to make the choice between heaven or hell.

If you do not know Him, now would be a good time….

Be blessed!

In Times Like These

It’s a beautiful Sunday afternoon. The sky is full of white cotton, fluffy, cumulus clouds and if you know me, you know its hard to concentrate on anything else. But my mind wandered into territory that we all are very familiar with, a time that begun in 2020 and became a stark contrast to any other time past we have known. I have to ask myself, why is 2020 so different and why are we completely in the dark as to why? We have all heard the phrase, “we live in uncertain times.” I’ve repeated that particular phrase many times in the past several months as it has become commonplace, but in reality nothing could be further from the truth. The chaos that surrounds us like thick dark clouds ready to impose horrendous storms, has been prophesied thousands of years ago.

In the book of Luke, Jesus tells us “when you shall hear of wars and rumors and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by” (Luke 21:9 KJV). What exactly is meant by “commotions”? I think it would be safe to say it refers specifically to instability and disorder and if you just take a small look at the world right now, you would see nothing but instability and disorder even in the earth itself. Several conditions are mentioned biblically before the end is to come. We have always heard of wars and rumors of wars. We have heard of nations rising against nations and kingdoms against kingdoms and lets not forget about earthquakes in divers places, and famines, and pestilences. We are seeing it now. But, if you take a look at the word “Nation” which is the Greek word “ethnos” it means, race. Jesus Christ warned us about racial strife and not since the civil rights era have tensions been on the rise.

We are all familiar with that dreadful day, May 25th, when George Floyd suffered eight minutes and forty-six seconds to his death under the knee of a police officer. All hell broke loose and every demon was seemingly dispatched and everything changed! BLM protests swept the streets. Businesses were looted, vandalized and even destroyed. Historical monuments and statues were torn down across our nation. So much mayhem occurred and this was foretold in the book of Mark where Jesus Christ warned us of “troubles” which He meant troubles of every kind including mob sedition. Nation against Nation! Race against Race. Its even come down to the point where now CRT critical race theory, has become all the rage.

When God created us, He designed us in our mother’s womb to be born to think, live, dream, and awaken each day as individuals, not people defined in sections of groups. America is all about individual equality not a group equity and CRT which is nothing more than the work of Satan himself, is nothing more than groups defined by color of skin. We have a constitution that recognizes our individuality and gives each of us the same rights under the law and we are defined by free will. CRT is itself racist. They want to teach our children the old ways that race is all that matters. They want to teach our young minds resentment, blame and hopelessness. They want to teach your children to pin the past on the present! We Americans cleave by values not skin color.

My parents never taught me back in the 60’s that color was an issue. They never taught me to look at skin color and define according to skin tone. I was taught to love everyone unconditionally. This is how I raised my two sons. When we look at others, we see another human being not a color. Some of my closest friends have been those of a different race, nationality, even a different language. But CRT is radically being shoved down our children’s throats and they are being taught to hate and this is nothing more than Marxism and WE CANNOT BUY INTO THIS!

Earthquakes! They are happening everywhere in fact, many natural disasters of all kinds, including wind-driven fires fall fall under this category because the word “earthquake” in the New Testament means “commotion, gale (of the air) and earthquake ( of the ground). Of the air, hurricanes were record breaking in 2020 with 30 storms the most named in a single season in 170 years of record keeping. In September alone , 10 storms occurred which is the highest number for any one month on record. What about those fires in western North America? Last year was devastating but this year, 2021, fires all over our planet and I can’t help but be reminded of the book of Revelation where these things are prominently mentioned. Now we are seeing pestilences, diseases. Covid-19 got out attention! A global pandemic and this world has never seen nothing like it since the Spanish flu 103 years ago.

What about now? Our government has become a dictatorship enforcing mandates that they themselves do NOT comply with. It’s all about rule and control and more than anything, they want to make our nation a communist dwelling where we bow down and lay our freedoms at their feet. They will stop at nothing until the tyrants have killed the majority of us off and the rest will either comply or sent to FEMA camps. My friend, America is not free. Many lives were laid down for our freedoms and now they try to take those freedoms away. The issue now is the vaccine. I am not a vaccine dodger at all, in fact, I take a pneumonia vaccine every ten years. But something is amiss about the rhetoric itself. This vaccine has been controversial since day one and many threats have been issued to take our freedoms we enjoy if we don’t roll up our sleeves. My concerns? The evidence! The vaccine is nothing more than an experimental drug and in my very own personal opinion, it is unethical to force this vaccine on anyone especially since it is not FDA approved.

I have read countless stories and even know first hand from a family member that was effected by her first jab, and she’s a nurse! I already have some health issues and will NOT put something into my body that could possibly cause more harm. I have studied many reports from scientists and doctors who are warning people the best they can, because the main media refuses to get the truth out to the masses, that it is not safe to take this vaccine. In most cases, the ones now contracting Covid-19 are those who have already been vaccinated. Yet, they are blaming those of us who have not been vaccinated and saying we are the problem. If ever you need to wake up and pay attention, now is the time. I just recently read a post on in my Facebook feed, where a man was in the hospital with Covid and he had been fully vaccinated. Even though his organs are shutting down, he praises the vaccine saying “it would have been worse had I not been vaccinated.” Now we are facing the issue of our children being forced to be vaccinated without parental permission.

Folks, its your choice if you choose to be vaccinated. But don’t blame me if I choose not to be. There is something completely alarming happening here and seemingly no one is seeing what’s right in front of them. It’s almost barbarous how this experimental drug is being pushed on us. Why would anyone want to be an experimental rat for anyone? Look at our borders. Illegals flooding in by the masses, not being vaccinated and are being released all over our nation. Why aren’t they being forced to be jabbed? Why are those who have been tested positive for the virus being released freely into our society? There are many concerns, many unanswered questions, many strange things taking place and we just sit here waiting, not raising our concerns, not using our voices, just waiting for someone else to deal with it and we sit by while our nation is crumbling. I think we can all agree, that we ALL feel something is not right among us. Several months ago, I had dreams that I have not been able to forget. Things I saw in my dreams are now being realized. In my dreams, I saw distractions being imposed. Confusion among everyone and mandates being forced on us and this was before the vaccine was issued.

Bottom line: The entire world desperately needs God! The Kingdom of God! Every condition prophesied to precede it now exists. Only those with eyes to see and ears to hear can testify to this truth, all others are clueless. If we return to Luke, Jesus also said in chapter 21, “When you SEE these things come to pass, you know that the Kingdom of God is near at hand.” Get this, grasp this, YOU WILL KNOW you are near the end. We have seen these things for a while. Don’t think for one moment we are NOT close. If you do not know God, now would be a good time to ask Him into your hearts. When you ask, you will receive! He will come into your heart and when you ask Him to forgive you of your sins, He will! No matter what you have done or who you are, just ask and believe and you shall be saved! We are at the threshold of eternity. Where will you spend yours?

He Is Jealous For Me

While going through the drive through for my morning Joe (diet coke), I heard a song I’ve heard many times before but this morning it particularly spoke into the depths of my soul and I began to dwell on the love of the one who deeply loves me. This love I speak of is tender yet loves like a hurricane. It’s steadfast and never changing, nor does it fail me and its strong as death. He is strong and He doesn’t give up on me even when I don’t understand my own self and feel like giving up. He has etched His love across my being permanently and places a seal of His love over my heart. He carries a flame for me like I’ve never known and it burns like a blazing fire, and He loves me with every fiber of His being. His love is jealous and unyielding as the grave. His feelings towards me are astonishing and go beyond my comprehension and many waters cannot quench this love He has for me. This love I speak of is God’s love.

Upon awakening this morning, I sat by my bedroom window staring into the cloudy skies asking God to speak to me today, and He did. He sent me to Isaiah chapter 62, and for the record, Isaiah is my favorite book of the Old Testament as it brought me through many storms in my life. I read verse 3 and my mind wandered and I could not concentrate any further on the rest of the chapter. ” You will be a crown of splendor in the Lord’s hand, a royal diadem in the hand of God.” As I contemplated this verse, I tried to imagine God’s love for me that He would consider me to be a “crown of splendor” even a “royal diadem” in His hand. A diadem is a jeweled crown worn as a symbol of sovereignty. This symbolizes royalty and one day soon, in the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, God is going to display the redeemed as a King would display his crown.

As I drove around this morning in the rain, I dwelt on this scripture until I heard the song by David Crowder.
“He is jealous for me, Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree, bending beneath the weight of His wind and mercy. When all of a sudden, I am unaware of the afflictions eclipsed by His glory, and I realize just how beautiful You are, and how great Your affections are for me
…” This was a beautiful confirmation of God’s love to me and the meaning is taken from Exodus chapter 20 verses 4-6. It’s amazing that so many beautiful songs have been written straight from God’s word, and this one is no exception. In Exodus chapter 20 it talks about how we are not to make for ourselves any carved out images to bow down and worship. God wants our worship for Him and Him only because it shows our love for Him. And in verse 5 it says, ” I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God.”

His jealousy isn’t that of envy as in a negative connotation, but He is diligent to protect what He created and He created us to praise and worship Him and Him only, and He does not want to share His praises with another nor will He. He is not jealous of us, but for us. He loves us so much that His infinite power and His glory is concerned about us and He cares like a loving parent cares for their children and I find it totally amazing that God is jealous of my best interest. Let that sink in. God does not want our spirits to be consumed by the things of this world or by the god of this world for that matter. God wants a relationship with us and He will not settle for the back seat or second best, And once we truly, whole heartedly realize how much He really loves us, it changes our lives drastically. We no longer want to hold on to old habits, or things that take center stage in our lives.

There is a battle that rages over our human spirits and the god of this world, the devil himself, wants to be the god of your spirit so he can influence you to do his will. He comes to kill and destroy you, but God comes to bring life. He has breathed this life into every human on the face of this planet and God jealously yearns for this spirit in us. He wants us to depend solely on Him and if we do, we can’t go wrong. We were bought with a price therefore we should glorify God in our bodies. Corinthians 6:20. There is no greater love than that of our Father God the kind of love that hides you under the shadow of His wings when we go to Him for peace. His peace is unexplainable, you can only experience it because words are too few to describe what it really means to have that peace that passes all understanding and that kind of peace can only come from a compassionate and loving God. I think of those words, ” He is jealous for me” and my heart strings pull me into a different mindset knowing that His love transcends, it binds us, unites us and because of that, my God is jealous for you and me…

Be blessed

Should The Truth Be Told

It’s no secret that I am a preacher’s kid nor is it a secret how strict the environment was I grew up in. In all the splendor and chaos combined, its no wonder my life was a total mess when I left for college. Don’t get me wrong, my parents were wonderful people and loved God and their family and they made sure we were loved and taken good care of and they did their best to raise us right, the way they knew how. But I grew up in a Pentecostal atmosphere, one that was very strict and full of legalism and I cannot begin to reiterate the many times I was told by different people that I was going to hell for this and that. Every thing that could be deemed a sin, was indeed deemed a sin. It wasn’t until God removed me from such chaos and taught me the truth and taught me more about Himself outside a church setting than I learned growing up in church, and that’s when my life changed drastically.

Being a Christian was something I took for granted and felt like I was automatically Christ-like because I was in church every time the doors were opened. In my youth, I was told who I could and could not hang out with. If you were not a Christian, then I was not allowed to go near you. If you were a gay person, I could not even speak to you. If you smoked cigarettes or drank liquor, that was a big no-no. My life was stained with “holier-than-thou” and I wasn’t anything near being holy myself, just a false pretense, a young soul locked in mortal struggle every single day of my life. In a way, I felt more like the beaten man in a ditch who was left for dead alongside the road in Luke chapter 10. Most church services were marked with absolute silence for me when I would hear how Jesus sat with a Samaritan woman at the well, or when He sat in the very dust with a woman who could not lift her head from shame after being caught in adultery. I remember hearing about Jesus calling down a thief in the form of a Tax collector from a sycamore tree and going to his house for lunch one day.

It seemed to me His (Jesus) choice of company made many of the high and mighty, holier than thou leaders during that time very upset and Jesus taught a very simple yet notable lesson for those who put Him under a microscope. Matthew 9: 12-13 (NIV) tells us, and this is Jesus speaking; “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” Somewhere along the way we got it wrong! We didn’t go “into the world” rather, we saved ourselves from a bad name by secluding ourselves to only ourselves, and from the world. I asked the question then and still ask it today, “how can we be a witness to the lost when we have fully immunized ourselves from sinners to begin with? Who are we suppose to be a witness to when we are reduced to a circle of people just like us or better yet, just like the Pharisees?

I have seen with my own eyes people who desperately needed God come to church dressed like a hooker only to be asked to leave because of the way they were dressed. I’ve seen drunks and drug addicts come in only to be ridiculed in the altar where they stood asking Jesus for help. But because their breath wreaked of alcohol, or they weren’t acting quite like we thought they should act in a church setting, we doubted their sincerity even though they made the effort to walk down to the altar during an altar call. The sick came, and were ridiculed by the spirit of the Pharisees. It sickens me to the core how many professed Christians are so NOT like Jesus Christ.

During Jesus’ time on earth, He made it a point to correct this line of faulty thinking. He made a statement that in my opinion is the most important statement in the New Testament. It’s actually a commandment. Matthew 22: 37-40 (NIV), ” Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the law and Prophets hang on these two commandments.” I believe it is in our nature to avoid situations and people that make us uncomfortable. If you read about the good Samaritan in Luke 10: 30-37, you will find that it was fear that made a priest and a temple assistant ignore a beaten man in a ditch on the side of the road. But who finally showed up to help the poor man in need? An outcast! Someone who stopped to check on the beaten man and even went as far as seeing to it that he would have a place to stay and to heal from his wounds. That person whom we know to be the “good Samaritan.”

“Love your neighbor as yourself.” There is so much to learn from that statement. Our neighbor? Our neighbor with different religious beliefs. Our neighbor with different moral beliefs. Our neighbor who is a rebel. Our neighbor who drinks, who snorts lines, who commits adultery, that neighbor who is your enemy. How can you love a neighbor when you think you are too Christ-like for them? To be Christ-like would be to go to them and love them and do good to them. To sit with them and cry with them. To learn what and why they choose to do what they do. You have no idea the pain and struggles these folks have that drive them to the very things we detest. I know this for a fact because I became one of them. If you know me, you know I am friends with gay people. I am friends with alcoholics and drug addicts, those who do not live the way those of us in Christ live. I am even friends with known witches. I follow Jesus according to the example He set and the words He taught.

Following Jesus is not easy! It wasn’t even easy for Jesus when He was among us on this earth. I feel this next scripture sums up what we are commanded to do. Matthew 28: 19-20 (NIV) ” Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always to the very end of the age.” Go change the world! You cannot be the salt of the earth, nor the light on a hill if you are not out there among the smelly sheep who need you to rescue them from their “ditch.” We need to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ even if that means going into uncomfortable places and being around people who are not like you. Recently, I have found a way to break free from my comfort zone to witness to others, and that’s by sharing my arts as gifts with a hand written message of the good news of Jesus Christ. This was done during lockdown, after midnight when no one was watching. I took wrapped gifts and left it on the door of every neighbor in my area. I don’t say this for accolades or to be noticed, I say this because sometimes we just have to be creative. Now? I will speak to anyone face to face and tell them about Jesus because time is short and I believe we are at the end of the age. I share on social medias, etc., anyway God provides me to share the good news I share it.

My final thought is that if we step out of our own comforts we will be stepping out in faith and into God’s will just like Jesus did. My friends, there is absolutely nothing as fulfilling and exciting than following the Path Jesus took.

Be blessed.

Defender Of the Defenseless

I’m just a small voice in a huge universe. I’m not talking about the voice of conscience, that wee tiny voice that fights for moral sense, I’m simply stating a fact that I am not known, I’m unheard of, in layman’s terms, a nobody, but 1 Corinthians 1:27 tells me that God chooses the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, He chooses the weak things of the world to shame the strong. That can also apply to those like me who are dust in the wind, God can choose the unknown who are willing to take a stand and be heard. I am not saying, God chose me to be the voice for this platform I’m about to speak of, but in my opinion, it should be all of us speaking up and speaking out against a holocaust on a mass scale against unborn babies.

Abortion, just the mere mention of that name sends chills up my spine and as long as we have breath in us, we should be fighting this form of genocide because we will be held accountable before God, both in this life and in eternity. I speak boldly and loudly through written words that fear of disapproval of others is not an excuse. We will be held accountable for those fears. These unborn babies whose lives began at conception can’t speak for themselves and if we do not speak up for them then we should prepare to answer a question on the last day and realize now that there are no reasons more important than the lives of those who did not choose to be conceived in the first place. The very lives God created in His own image, the very lives God breathed life into.

Proverbs 31: 8-9 ” Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; defend the rights of the poor and the needy.” The question here is who is more poor and needy and incapable of speaking for themselves than those tiny humans who are being stripped of legal protection and are being murdered at the rate of one million per year? If we don’t speak up then who will? My next question is why are many Christians trying to make peace with abortion? We are Pro-Life not peace makers for murderers! Planned Parenthood is not our friend! I read an article today that said Planned parenthood’s goal is to make sure that the next generation of young Christians will be those who will make peace with abortion. This is an evil scheme. We do not , DO NOT make peace with evil, and killing babies is evil.

Photo from the internet

Like me, you are probably asking who these Christians are that are opening their doors to Planned Parenthood and why would we open our doors to America’s leading killer of pre-born babies? If you will recall, Planned Parenthood was caught red-handed chopping up recently-aborted babies to sell, to make a profit for their organs. This should bring tears to your eyes and anger should sprout up inside you because this kind of evil is as evil as it gets. How did Planned Parenthood infiltrate the Christian community with such influence as that where a Pastor (and I am going to mention names), Pastor, Dr. Willie Parker is now promoting his memoir, Life’s Work and he says and I quote, ” I believe, as an abortion provider, I’m doing God’s work.” What is his reasoning for this? He convinces Christian women that this is a “quick fix” for moral failings and he has cozied up to Christian college administrators and school Presidents to sell this idea and Planned Parenthood jumped all over this idea and are now focusing on colleges and universities targeting Christian young people to make them believe abortion is ok.

This IS NOT ok! Satan has got his foot in the door putting that last nail in the coffin for pro-life movement. This is where the rubber meets the road. We cannot sit down or sit back any longer and allow this to take root. We need to slam this door and do it now. We need to stop this insanity the insanity that a Pastor preaches that he’s doing God’s work by promoting abortion in the name of “quick fix” for moral failings. I am furious! I am heart broken! I am disgusted! I am calling on churches to take a stand and stop sitting back and allowing this genocide that is now being done in the name of Jesus. How dare you bring this disgrace into the Christian community and allow it rather than stopping it dead in its tracks. Dr. Willie Parker, I come against you. You are wrong and you are in danger of hell and if you do not turn from your wicked ways and repent, you will spend eternity along with your new buddies from Planned Parenthood paying the ultimate price for your sins!!!

When deliberate steps are taken to end life, its called MURDER! And when we kill them mercilessly and sell their organs for harvesting, or use their tissue for lifesaving does that really make sense to kill for profit or kill to save? Now abortions are being done just within a week of delivery and they throw out the baby. Do you honestly, wholeheartedly think God is pleased with this? Do you really think God is upstairs applauding abortions because of moral failings? These little lives have the very breath of God in them and Planned Parenthood wants to profit because they do not value life nor do they value the lives of those mothers who are being convinced to “quick fix!” I met a lady several years ago who opened up to me about an abortion she had when she was younger. At the age of 58 she still is haunted by her choice. She cried bitterly wishing she could go back and change that choice she made and give birth to that that precious soul rather than destroy it. She attended the church I attended at that time, and she went to the altar every service begging God to take away the pain she was left with. Prisons are full of people who killed someone and they are full of regret. Most women I have met who have participated in abortions, are full of regret. There is an effect that becomes a mental burden when we prize death over life, its a burden that follows you the rest of your days.

If you are a woman who is considering an abortion, I ask you to please reconsider. It may seem like a “quick fix” now, but your life will be full of regret, there will be no peace and you will be haunted by your decision and heartache will be the garment you wear for the rest of your life. Planned Parenthood is not going to tell you this. To them, its more about padding their pockets than telling you how beautiful it is to give life to another human. There is no greater human love than that of a mother’s and children bring so much joy and happiness into our lives. Maybe you have had a moral failing and as a result, you find yourself pregnant. I beg you not to turn to Planned Parenthood for help. There are organizations who will help you throughout your pregnancy and when your child is born, if you still choose to give up your baby, then these organizations will find a good home for your baby. Someone gave life to you, please don’t consider abortion, it comes with a price and its a heavy, heavy price, instead give life and allow God to heal you from the choices you made.

My Jordan

If you know the story of Joshua, Moses successor, then you know Joshua had a Jordan river to deal with and it did not come easy, but he obeyed God nonetheless. This morning during my own personal bible study, I read the account in the book of Joshua and as my mind wandered back several thousand years to that place and time, I was able to catch a glimpse that match the reality I face today. I’ve read this account many times through my life, but for the first time, it became real for me.

I stand at a crossroad with a Jordan river of my own raging at every turn. It’s a scary place to be one full of uncertainties with no hope in sight. Back in the days of Joshua, many ancient cultures believed that rivers were sacred, just like the Egyptians honored their Nile and for those who lived in Canaan, the Jordan river was the symbol of power and they whole heartedly believed this river protected their fertility gods, their gods known as the Baals. While there is no literal Jordan for me to put my feet in, in my conscience the raging waters are very real. And as I stand in deep wonder of how, where, what and when, the river seems to be rising fast. In the physical, my true reality, I’ve reached a place in my life where nothing makes sense and chaos is trying to fill my mind and the question of whether or not I trust God has infiltrated and that alone haunts every future second given to me.

It wasn’t long ago, I found myself in a very bad disposition on a solo hiking trip and I did not have time to struggle with obeying God or not. I simply just gave it to Him to help me and He did. My future, my well-being, my entire life was being chased through a forest by evil humans, and God parted a sea or a river so-to-speak and I was delivered from a potentially, deadly moment in my life which is probably the most terrified I have ever been. But now, time has brought me to the edge of another either or. Moses stood in this very disposition as did Joshua with no where to go and a miracle to be had as their only way of escape. Sometimes, just like the Israelites, we reach moments when we have to cross a red sea or the Jordan and it takes faith to do so. As I read the account today, I studied the Jordan river itself and allow me to give you a little perspective of this particular river.

As I mentioned earlier, many cultures deemed Jordan as sacred, but the Israelites deemed it as a barrier. It was something they had to overcome and it was a huge obstacle to face in order to enter their promised land. It was during flood season and the Jordan river was flowing over its banks. I’ve read that the deepest part where the Israelites crossed was 17 feet deep and this particular river is a fast moving river with vicious currents. In 1854 an expert swimmer was unable to cross the river near Jericho because the current was too strong even for this man to swim across. I myself have swam in currents that are difficult and will wear you down quickly. But when the Jordan river floods, it becomes a turbulent river one that would make anyone change their mind about crossing and for good reason. The photo below I found on the internet, is the Jordan at flood stage.

Jordan River via Internet

As I stand at my crossroad with that Jordan raging around me, the photo above is the turbulence I feel inside. Fear has tried relentlessly to take me over, but God’s word tells me, “be strong and very courageous.” When hopelessness rears its ugly head, God tells me, “when the righteous cries for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.” When I feel anxious, God tells me, “don’t be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be known to God.” And my life-line verse that gets me through is from Isaiah 40:31; “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” God gives me the direction I need and all I have to do, is trust Him.

But as I read this account in the book of Joshua, I imagined the Levite Priests who were the first to cross the Jordan, standing there on the edge holding the ark of the covenant, the very seat of God, and what must have been running through their minds. Were they afraid? Were they being taunted by the Canaanites watching from the other side? The Canaanites felt protected by a flooding, raging Jordan, because the waters showed Baal’s power to save them all from the approaching Israelites who were just obeying God. But these same Canaanites witnessed something so spectacular, entirely amazing and unexplainable to them. the moment those Priests toes entered the waters edge, the water from upstream stopped flowing. And the waters heaped up in a town away from them called Adam and the Priests began to cross over with the Israelites following behind. Can you imagine mouths flying wide open, heads being scratched and expressions to die for as the Canaanites stood there watching the miracle from a front row view?

Those same Priests, with the ark of the covenant, felt the cold swirling water as their feet touched the edge, and in my mind I could see terror etched across their faces but trusting God was paramount and immediately, suddenly, that cold vicious river stopped, And they all crossed safely over to the other side. But the real miracle to me isn’t how wide or deep the river was, it was the fact that during flood stage they crossed over on a dry river bed. This alone tells of God’s power and how much He truly cares for His people. The same thing happened with Moses at the Red Sea.

Many times, when people come up against their Jordan, maybe its a job or a relationship that is everything but good, maybe an addiction, whatever it may be, we have a decision to make and this is where we sink or swim. The only way over to the other side is to fully trust in God and that comes by just stepping out in faith like those Levite Priests carrying the ark of the covenant did. They just took that first step and God took it from there.

As for me, I broke down and cried when I read how the river bed became dry immediately. That was God’s grace! His love for His children. He promises never to leave us nor forsake us and these are words we must cling to even while the waters rage around us and everything seems hopeless. I’ve had my share of many Jordan’s in the past. They have been stern lessons for me and as I look back, I see the fear I carried and the lack of trust in God I demonstrated while keeping my eyes on what I could do to fix the situation rather than giving it to God. But today, as I stand here once more, I’ve decided to step in by faith and let God direct my steps knowing that the outcome will be for my greater good. It’s all about the trust. But like the rest of you who have been here, its that first step into the unknown that sends voices screaming through our heads and this is where desperation tries to make our decision for us.

When we let go and let God, peace that passes all understanding is released and the joy of the Lord becomes our strength. When we become desperate for God’s help and we are grasping for an anchor for our souls, our soul will find rest in God alone. The Psalmist David also found himself with many Jordan’s to cross. He wrote in Psalm 119 verse 47, ” I rise before dawn and cry for help; I hope in your words.” I, like David, find hope in God’s words because they are true and bring life to my dry bones and when I come to a Jordan, all I need to do is just wait! Wait upon the Lord to go before me and lead me to where He wants me to go. I can smile knowing I am not alone. Tonight, my heart and soul are resting in the peace God has given me. Nothing has changed in my situation, but I know God has got this and He directs my steps. There is no room for fear, doubt or anxiousness, not like before.

Where He leads, I will follow….

To Rend or Not To Rend

The conflict reflected among the body of Christ is more less a clash of separate beliefs that often leads to confusion and even spiritual genocide. I have witnessed such destruction on many social medias, especially YouTube. I have seen the true narrative of biblical truths being shredded apart by those who deem to make holy scripture a strategic battle plan for their own directives completely taking verses to mean something that they don’t in correlation to their argument. Truths becoming untruths, and untruths, truth. But those who desire to make tales of God’s truth are forgetting one very important matter; the devil himself, Satan. He comes to kill, steal and destroy and he brings with him some exclusive key weapons to use to distort the word and work of God and this is what I have observed…

I was brought up in a Christian home. My father was a minister and legalism was a way of life. There were the behaviors, disciplines and practices where you had to perform certain deeds in order to be counted faithful and true to God. In other words, you secured righteousness in God through works, requirements of the laws. Most believed that your good works and obedience was the main focus rather than a true relationship with God. Later in life, I left that prison after being condemned into oblivion as it wore me down to the point that I actually backslid and almost became an atheist.

Not long afterwards, I somehow stumbled across a movement known as Once Saved, Always Saved acronymically known as OSAS. I felt like a bird released from it’s cage of long captivity. It was more less a feel good doctrine that eventually brought me back to that cage where I preferred to stay and hide away in my newfound confusion and a heart needing more. Something was not right and it did not take long to realize I was in the wrong place listening to those who taught all you had to do was absolutely nothing but believe, it felt good for a while, I will admit, but deep down in the very depths of my hungry soul the false doctrine was not clicking.

I took it upon myself to read scriptures outside traditional church settings and study the word of God on my own. I came to realize the truth! I also came to realize how loving, patient and compassionate God really is and from the beginning of Genesis to the end of Revelation, the Bible is stock-full of grace and mercies and the perfect blueprint to live the way I am supposed to live. Mind you, it didn’t happen over night it took a mound of undoing, miles of retraining and most importantly, allowing God to remold me , my mindset that is.

I wanted to start my own YouTube channel and share my enthusiasm of what God was doing in my life, so I started watching others and my mind was blown at the teachings being aired all over the place. There were those who were bent on speaking boldly about things that are not in the Bible as if they were true such as living life the way YOU want to live and not according to how God wants you to live. I will agree, there is nothing you can do to earn eternal life as it says in Romans chapter 6 verse 23; “… but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ.” This is truth as eternal life is just that, a gift! It’s not something that is paid for or wages earned for works done. It’s a gift! God does hold the power to grant the gift of eternal life, but it is a gift with conditions given only to those who have qualified.

Let me make it clear to remove some doubt you may be experiencing, salvation is a free gift from our Father God, our Creator. There is nothing you can do to earn it or merit. And God’s grace is completely unmerited pardon of one’s sins. What is salvation? Salvation means you are saved from death. However, unless God intervenes to apply the blood of His son Jesus Christ who died on the cross for man’s sins to cover the REPENTANT sinner’s part, there can be no salvation. point blank! Ephesians 1: 5, 7 tells us, “Jesus Christ…In whom all have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.” Colossians 1:14 states the same thing, that God gave grace-forgiveness-through Christ’s blood.

But this hyper grace movement which is a sub-movement of the once saved always saved movement in our 21st century teaches that all sin, past, present and future has already been forgiven and there is no need to confess. They teach you can do as you please and that you are not bound by Jesus’ teachings. They teach you that you are not responsible for your sin and if anyone disagrees, they are a pharisaical legalist. So in short, the grace-teachers pervert the grace of God into a license to sin. Jesus never taught that you should just “believe on Him.” We need to repent of our sins and I personally believe it goes further than just believing. There are many scriptures throughout the New Testament that speak on repentance, and there are many in the old testament. What about real genuine heartfelt repentance? The kind that goes deeper than just feeling sorry for what you have done that is wrong. This kind of repentance requires more than a partial surrender you need to give God your ALL. Everything! It’s all or nothing! I am talking about what Joel suggested in the Old Testament, rendering your heart. What does it mean to rend your heart? It simply means to repent with a raw and sincere heart. Repenting leads to getting rid of those things that separate you from God. SIN SEPARATES YOU FROM GOD!

God does not dwell in darkness and if there is sin in your life, God is not dwelling in a heart of sin. God wants us to be holy as He is holy. We will never be perfect by any means, not until we are made perfect in heaven. In Joel chapter 2 verses 12 and 13 say, ” Even now, declares the Lord, return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning. Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God for He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love and He relents from sending calamity.” We need to repent with a sincere heart, we should be grief-stricken and horrified when we sin against God. Back in Biblical days people would “rend” their garments which means they would tear their clothes as expressions of deep emotions such as from a death of a loved one, or of some kind of terror. The above scriptures is talking about rend (repent) our hearts with the same expressions of deep regret knowing God is not pleased in us doing our will and not His.

If you listen to those who tell you its okay to sin you are listening to false teachers. We need to abide in Christ which means to live, continue or remain, so to abide we live in or remain in Him, Jesus Christ. The difference between abiding in Christ or not abiding in Christ is the difference in being saved or not saved. To abide in Christ is to know Christ! To know Christ is to follow Christ. To follow Christ is to be in an intimate relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And to be in an intimate relationship with Christ means you are doing more than just believing, you are abiding. You are growing and that’s what the word of God is for, its our blueprint our life manual, abiding means we allow His word to fill our minds to transform us and help our faith to grow. And faith itself is rooted in the activity of God and faith without works is dead. We become obedient as in responding to the truths of Jesus Christ. “If you abide in Me, and my words abide in you…” Then we abide in His love, resting on the love of Christ, the one who gave His life for all.

But as we are in the abiding process, we are also called to submit to the pruning knife of God. This is where He cuts away those things that are not important and keep us from abiding in His son. I’ve been through His pruning. Its not easy and it is painful at times, but in order to continue to abide, this is a process we need to be who and what we are suppose to be for God. How can one live for God and not want to grow? How can you continue in known sins without repenting, better yet, how can you not fall on your face with a contrite spirit and rend your heart before God? How can you not? Jesus went to the cross and the entire journey was nothing but torment, torture, He was beaten beyond recognition, spit on, cursed at, and ultimately died on a cross all for one purpose and that purpose was for you and for me. Oh I believe! I believe God so loved us all that He gave His only son and whoever believes will not perish but have everlasting life. But “believe” is more than just a thought of an action, to truly believe is to go deep, all in. To believe is to adhere to multiple layers of truth and hold something dear. Its not one dimension its multifaceted and if we truly belief with our whole hearts, our lives will be the witness to that belief.

If you engage in voices that are loud and obnoxious, telling you it’s okay to do whatever you want, live however you want, remember Jesus did not come to a cross on Calvary just so you could continue to party and live life the way you see fit, He came to give you life and give it abundantly. I love Jesus! I want to do whatever He will have me to do or be. Do I sin? Yes I do. Sometimes knowingly and sometimes not, but I always repent, and many times when my spirit is contrite within me, I rend my heart. I grieve over what I do and what I struggle with. But one day in the very near future, I will no longer have those struggles and it will be worth it all to live eternally with the one who loved me enough to lay His life down for me. If you are struggling with whom or what to believe, get in the word of God yourself and study it for yourself and it will change your life…

Made Of Silence

The lure of a perfect, dark trap is never detected until it’s too late. I for one learned the possibility of a much dreaded woe awaiting me, not specifically me, but anyone daring to cross over that trailhead at the Riley Moore Falls Thursday afternoon.

It was Thursday, April 22, 2021. I decided to take a drive to Westminister, S.C. and hike the two mile trail to Riley Moore Falls. It was a beautiful, breezy day and I needed to get out of the house and into nature and I am no stranger to hiking in the mountains, nor hiking alone as I’ve never had fear of solo trips and adventures and have plenty of experience under my belt. But this day would prove to change my way of thinking of how bravery looks.

When I woke up Thursday morning alarms were going off in my head. I had a sick feeling inside my stomach that something wasn’t right. I went about my morning routine diving into my bible devotions and feeding the cats. I already planned the day before to go discover these Falls I’ve been excited to see for some time. Yet, that gnawing feeling was not giving in and neither was I. I got ready, packed up my backpack with my GoPro, water, snacks and sunglasses, I grabbed my hoodie thinking it might be chilly up in the hills and headed out the door. I set my GPS for my destination, put on my shades and started singing Ging Gang Goolie, a song I heard in one of my favorite films, Love By Design and kind of adopted it as my travel song. Go figure! Its a scout song that is just plain fun to sing even for an old adventurer like me.

As I drove through Clemson, I paid homage to my favorite college football team and remembered the Botanical Gardens that are located in that vicinity that I’ve been reading about. I seriously felt like changing my mind about the hike and just go to the gardens instead, but as fate would have it, I drove on. My GPS took me down several long and winding roads until it brought me to Spy Rock Road which was a gravel/dirt road, FS 748, which took me about two and I/2 miles up to the trailhead. When I arrived, there was a white car and a gray truck and a very friendly man inside the truck who was busy talking on a walkie talkie or his cell phone. He drove away waving at me and I took his parking spot. I sat in my car debating this trail, and when I got out, that sick feeling hit me again. My gut was in overdrive, it was my brain’s way of telling me that instinct had kicked in.

I grabbed my backpack and wrapped my hoodie around my waist, then stopped to take a photo of the trailhead all while ignoring the intuition and headed for the falls.

They call this trail, Unnamed Forest Road where you hike up about 1/2 mile before you get to the actual trailhead. I have to say, several times I turned and looked back thinking this might not be a good idea, something I’ve never done before. But when I commit, I’m all in. But my gut kept firing off. I took my time and a slow pace taking in the sights and fresh air. I reached the actual trailhead, and began my descent down the mountain. The wind had an eerie feel to it making its way through those trees and higher elevations. But now, when I look back, that eeriness was the breath of evil and it felt like it was leading me to something unimaginable. I had hiked a mile down that mountain, my eyes darting all over the place and I didn’t even know why. I finally stopped to take a few photos with my phone. Just to take in the beautiful forestry.

After taking my photos, I heard noises in the distance. As a hiker, you are used to such things and I didn’t give it second thought. Then I heard a noise that resembled a woodpecker only it didn’t sound like wood being pecked, more like rocks being clapped together. Three consecutive knocks. That got my attention and I began to study my surroundings. I heard it again. Three knocks and it was coming from my left. Then I heard it again, the same three knocks, but this time it came from my right. I felt my heart start beating fast as I was slowly scanning that forest realizing that lump in my throat was becoming hard to swallow, and I just found myself in an undeviating state of nervousness. Something was definitely not right here. Then to my dismay, over to my left, I heard rustling in the dried leaves, and branches being snapped, then the unthinkable kicked in. I began to feel panic and I felt it coming on quickly when I saw two men crouching down behind some fallen trees and shrubbery. At that very moment I swore they could hear my heartbeat! Inwardly, I was begging my heart to be silent. “Be silent. Just please be silent!”

I knew I was in trouble and had to do whatever it was I was going to do and do it fast. So I pretended to be calm but was not calm at all and pretended not to have heard anything and decided to stand there as if to be taking more photos. But I was shaking terribly. I knew I had to remain silent because when I become afraid, I start thinking out loud, but in my moment of distress, I began to silently pray to God, and I quoted a scripture from Deuteronomy 28: 7. ” The Lord will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction, but flee from you in seven.” Dear God, what do I do? I knew that there was also someone on my right side hiding and I was about to be ambushed. Their rock banging was nothing more than signals to each other and here I was, caught in the middle of it, but this was a time to remain silent and calm. The first thing came to mind was to keep going down that mountain, at least I could run it if I had to. So, I started down. But something stopped me dead in my tracks. Panic was settling in, and first rule of survival is not to panic and that’s when I felt in my spirit God speaking. As I am typing this, I’m feeling those chills I felt that day when God told me to head back up the mountain and not to worry because He would render his angels to protect me.

I looked all around, took a deep breath, then started up that mountain with a mile to go nowhere but up. I dared not look back. But I remember feeling strong and I was moving fast, faster than I would have imagined, it was definitely nothing of my own doing. I did hear movement behind me coming towards me but I refused to look back. When I reached the trailhead, I took off running, still not looking back. I saw my car in the distance and that same white car in the same parking space. A white truck pulled up, and a man and woman dressed like game wardens or forest rangers something of that sort, and the woman had papers in her hand. I noticed my car was covered in dirt from the dirt road and for some odd reason and I don’t know why, I took a photo of it. Then opened the car door and threw my back pack in. The man and woman walked up to me, one on either side, and my entire body felt like it was convulsing. The woman asked about the trail, to be honest, I don’t even remember what she was asking. I tried to speak but my voice was shaky but I was able to tell them about the two men I saw hiding in the woods. The man did not hesitate. He ran to his truck and got guns for them both and they headed for the trail.

I got into my car, locked my doors giving thanks to God for helping me up that mountain safely. I started driving back down that dirt road. I reached the end and there was that gray truck with that same man just sitting there, the one I met as I was coming in. I had to drive around him and as I did, I looked up at him, he was not smiling this time. He looked evil and gave me a hard look. He was about my age, white curly hair, white beard. I got around him but he pulled out right behind me and he followed me. I drove as fast as my little car would take me into town to a public place. I pulled into a location near a carwash and watched him drive away starring at me. I sat there trembling wondering, what just happened back there? I broke down into tears and began to pray thanking God for every ounce of strength he gave me just moments ago. I believe with all of my heart, it was not a figment of my imagination that God commanded his angels of protection around me. And I believe that I was made invisible to whomever it was chasing me up that mountain. They may have seen me take off in that direction but the angels covered me with their wings. It’s an irrefragable truth that I’ll believe to the day I take my last breath.

I finally made it home safely. But I was shaken. It was all a blur as little bits of pieces were coming back to me but slowly. I emailed my friend, Chris in England and told him about it then tried to go to bed and sleep, but no sleep would be had that night. The next day, I posted the event on Facebook. I left out many details because I was still in that fog. Friday night, I looked at the photos just to see if I had captured anything in the woods that I didn’t see while taking those pictures, but did not find any evidence whatsoever. This morning, Chris emailed me after I sent the photos to him and told me I should go to the police about it. Chris had studied some crimes committed in that area in Westminister and found that four women had been missing since February of this year. I looked at the photo of my car with all that dirt from the dirt road and noticed a reflection of the white car that was there behind me, and the truck that the man and woman was driving who ran into the woods with their guns. I then called the police in Westminister and spoke with an officer who took my story and said he was glad I had made it out to tell about it.

I have not been able to sleep the past couple of nights. This entire scenario keeps playing over and over in my mind. I will be speaking with Captain David Smith with the Oconee County Sherriff’s office again, Monday. But until then, I fight within myself for not listening to that discernment, that gut warning that kept trying to make me stop and pay attention. I have no clue what might have happened or maybe not happened, but the “what if’s” hold sway to my thinking and I have made a decision to never go hiking alone ever again. And then if and when I do go and whoever I go with will have to be comfortable with me carrying my gun. To all of my female hiking friends, please hear me when I say, DO NOT go alone! You never know what might be waiting on the other side of your decision. I speak to the men as well. This world is full of evil and crazy people, and Captain David Smith wishes for me to reiterate that to ALL especially women who solo hike like me. If you find yourself in a situation like this, try and remain calm but know your surroundings and plan an escape immediately and get out.

Return To Sassafras

After a grueling long year of hibernating under restrictions of Covid-19 and trying to breathe through those dreadful masks, I was more than ready to get out in nature and enjoy the enthralling brilliance and refined beauty that exists on our planet. I consider myself fortunate and blessed to have in my back yard, well, practically in my back yard, regal landscapes fit for a Queen. Blue skies that canopy mountains with a bluish color from the isoprene released into the atmosphere contributing to the haze on the mountains thus giving them their blue hue, and this is why they are called the Blue Ridge Mountains, part of the Appalachians Mountains.

At 3,563 feet in elevation, and a very windy day, I was able to hike and take in fresh air and grab some beautiful photos all while going solo. When you’re alone you can take your time, observe, discover a living and breathing environment as birds make their distinctive calls while other mountain creatures scurry about inhabiting their territory. I keep in mind its their domain and we are allowed to visit and while given this honor to be a part of their environment, we should take note of how unprejudiced and content they are to cohabitate without retribution to color, race and any other factors that we humans seemingly have forgotten about. I must say, there is a wealth of understanding to be learned from our fellow creatures of the land.

The following photos were taken by me with my handy dandy cell phone camera. Not the best by any means for photography but being that my GoPro was empty of its SIM card, unknowingly, and all those photos taken were not there, the cell phone has to suffice.

As you may know by now, I cannot create and write without one of the cats being part of the equation. They all are fascinated by the laptop, maybe the brightness of the light or the clicking of the keys, whatever it might be, there is always one of the cats here to offer their contribution and help for each piece. This blog is not complete without giving completion its due respect. Today, due respect goes to Miss Lilly, the Queen of the cat lair here in the foothills of the those blue mountains…

Truth: Segment 1. The Sabbath

I grew up a preacher’s kid where honoring God’s word was priority in our household. As I grew older I had many questions about many things in the Bible but no one was able to provide an answer that I was satisfied with. Just a couple of years ago, one of those questions came to mind and I haven’t been the same since. I began studying and researching for the truth and during this time, the devil started strategizing and scheming against me, even assaulting me with a barrage of insults against my intelligence because he knew once I realized the real truth I would become a real threat to him. Thus, that is now my strategy.

I know you’re wondering what that question might be so I’ll just jump in and tell you. But before I tell, I want to reiterate that God’s word, the Holy Bible, has become my standard for living and through many hours I have concluded that the Bible does not contradict itself, nor is it false in any account as many have made it their life to discredit the Word of God and try to prove that it is not truth. The question today is; is the Sabbath on Saturday or Sunday?

Let’s get into it…

Firstly, I am going to be raw, brutally honest with no sugar coating of the truth I have now embraced and honor. A part of me is angry that I was never taught the real truth but the other part of me believes that ignorance kept those of old from realizing the truth as well. I don’t blame them, but I will say this; for those who do know the truth and do not honor it and refrain from practicing it, you are in danger spiritually and I am about to show you. I will be taking questions from a book called Mark Of The Beast by E.G. White and answering with scriptural verses so that it will be easy to understand.

If you have a Biblical question its better to go to the source than take man’s word for it.
Q. Tell me, Lord, do you have a special day of rest for your followers?
A. ” I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day.” (Revelation 1:10)
Q. But which day is the Lord’s Day? Which day are You Lord of?
A. “The Son of man is Lord even of the Sabbath day.” (Matt. 12:8)
Q. There are seven days in the week. Which day is the Sabbath day?
A. “The seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God.” (Fourth commandment) (Exodus 20:8)
Q. Which day, according to our reckoning, is the seventh day, Saturday or Sunday?
A. Pay close attention to this verse: “And when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene and Mary, the mother of James…very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre, they saw a young man…And he saith unto them, be not affrighted; Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth which was crucified; he is risen.” (Mark 16: 1-6). (Note: everybody knows that Sunday was the ressurection day. The Sabbath was past when it dawned. Thus it is evident that the Saturday is evident that the Sabbath is Saturday, the day before Sunday.)
Q. But Lord, didn’t you abolish the law which contains the Sabbath commandment?
A. “Think not that I am come to destroy the law or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.” (Matt. 5:17)
Q. Well, at least, didn’t you change one of the commandments so that today your followers may keep another day than the seventh day?
A. “For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.” (Matt. 5:18)
Q. But, Lord, isn’t Saturday a Jewish day? Isn’t the seventh day the Sabbath of the Jews?
A. “The Sabbath was made for man.” (Mark 2:27). The Sabbath was made and given to man 1500 years before the existence of a Jew. (See Genesis 2: 1-3)

Q. Someone told me that after Your cucifixion, Lord, your followers no longer kept the seventh-day Sabbath according to the commandment. Is this true?
A. ” And that day was the preparation day and the Sabbath drew on. And the woman also, which came with Him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the Sepulchre, and how His body was laid. And they returned and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the Sabbath day according to the commandment.” (Luke 23:54-56)
Q. But didn’t the apostle Paul always meet with the early Christians on Sunday in honor of the ressurection? What was his manner in regard to a day of worship?
A. “And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, nd three Sabbath days reasoned with them out of the Scriptures.” (Acts 17:2)
Q. Did he meet with the Gentile converts on the Sabbath, too? Perhaps he met with the Jews on the Sabbath and the Greeks on Sunday. What about that?
A. “And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.” (Acts 18:4)
Q. What did Paul teach in regard to Sabbath keeping?
A. “There therefore remaineth a keeping of the Sabbath (margin) to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works as God did from His.” (Hebrews 4:9, 10)
Q. But, which day did Paul mean when he spoke of resting as God did?
A. For he spoke in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, ‘And God did rest the seventh day from all His works.'” (Hebrews 4;4)

Q. Is this, then, your instruction in regard to Sabbath keeping?
A. “For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.” (Acts 20:27). (In the New Testament there are no less that 59 references to the Sabbath. The book of Acts records 84 Sabbaths on which the Apostle Paul and his associates held religious services. Yet there is not one word in the entire Bible authorizing Sunday keeping).
Q. Then why is it so many people keep Sunday instead of Saturday? If the Bible teaches Sabbath keeping, how and by whom was Sunday keeping introduced into Christianity?
A. ” And he ( the ‘little horn’ power) shall speak great words against the Most High…and think to change times and laws.” (Daniel 7:25)
Q. The Roman Catholic Church is the little horn of Daniel 7; do you mean that it should think to change the law of God?
A. “Ask now the priests concerning the law.” (Haggai 2:11)
Q. Very well, I will ask Stephen Keenan, a Catholic Priest: Does your church think it has the power to change the law of God?
A. ” Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her; she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday, the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday, the seventh day of the week, a change for which there is no Scriptural authority.” (Doctrinal Catechism, page 174).

Q. Do Protestant ministers agree with this?
A. Congregationalist: “It is quite clear that however rigidly or devotedly we may spend Sunday, we are not keeping the Sabbath.” (Dr. R. W. Dale, The Ten Commandments, page 106).
Methodist: “Sabbath in the Hebrew language signifies rest and is the seventh day of the week….and it must be confessed that there is no law in the New Testament concerning the first day.” (Buck’s Theological Dictionary).
Baptist: “There was and is a commandment to keep holy the Sabbath day, but that Sabbath day was not Sunday. It will be said, however, and with some show of triumph, that the Sabbath was transferred from the seventh to the first day of the week… Where can the record of such a transfer be found? Not in the New Testament-absolutely not…Of course, I quite well know that Sunday did not come into use in early Christian history…But what a pity that it comes branded with the mark of paganism, and christened with the name of the sun god, when adopted and sanctioned by the Papal apostasy, and bequeathed as a sacred legacy to Protestantism.” (Dr. E.T Hiscox, author of the Baptist Manual).
Q. What difference does it make which day I keep? A day is a day isn’t it?
A. “Know ye not that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? (Romans 6:16)
Q. Then what shall I do, obey the Sabbath of God’s commandment or keep the Sunday of man?
A. “We ought to obey God rather than men.” (Acts 5:29)
Q. Well, Lord, what do You think of Sunday keeping?
A. “Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. But in vain they do worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” (Matt. 15: 6,9)
Q. But surely the millions of people who keep Sunday can’t be wrong, can they?
A. ” Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction and many there be which go in thereat: because strait is the gate and narrow is the way that leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” (Matt. 7;13, 14) (Only a few obeyed God in the days of Noah, in the days of Lot, in the days of Christ. The majority were lost).
Q. But Dr. So-and-so is a very wise man: Why doesn’t he and all the great preachers keep the Sabbath?
A. “For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: but God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty.” (1 Cor. 1:26, 27). (Note: The great religious leaders in Christ’s day rejected the truth also. His followers were of the common people).

Q. But I have accepted Jesus; I know He is my Saviour; I know He has accepted me and I have been keeping Sunday. Surely I would not be lost if I did not keep the Sabbath now, would I?
A. “A time of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent.” (Acts 17:30)
Q. I know you, Lord. You wouldn’t condemn me for breaking the Sabbath, would you?
A. “He that saith, I know Him, and keepeth not His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.” (1 John 2:4)
Q. But isn’t it sufficient that I love the Lord and live by the law of love?
A. “If ye love me, keep My commandments.” (John 14;15)
Q. Does that mean all ten of them?
A. “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” (James 2:10)
Q. Well, I think that if we try to follow Jesus, that is all that is necessary. Isn’t that right, Jesus?
A. ” He that saith he abideth in Him, ought himself also so to walk even as He walked.” (1 John 2;6)
Q. How do you walk, Lord what was your custom?
A. “And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up; and, as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day and stood up for to read.” (Luke 4:16)
Q. But, Lord, that was over 1900 years ago. Wouldn’t you keep some other day than Saturday if you should come to earth today?
A. “I am the Lord, I change not.” (Malachi 3;6) “Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8)
Q. Does my salvation depend upon my obedience to this Sabbath injunction?
A. “And being made perfect, He became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him.” ( Hebrews 5:9)
Q. Do you think it would be absolutely necessary to keep the commandments to receive eternal life?
A. ” If thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.” (Matt. 19:17)

Q. But I still can’t see why You insist on the seventh day, Lord. Isn’t Sunday as good as Saturday?
A. “God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it.” (Gen. 2:3) ” He hath blessed and I cannot reverse it.” (Numbers 23;20) ” For Thou blessest, O Lord, and it shall be blessed for ever.” (1 Chron. 17:27)
Q. Well, it seems to me that if I keep one day in seven, regardless of which one, that ought to be good enough.
A. “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man; but the end thereof are the ways of death.” (Proverbs 16:25) ” Spiritual things… are spiritually discerned.” ( 1 Cor. 2;13, 14)
Q. But, Lord! Lord! Can’t I do something else? Won’t my profession get me into heaven?
A. Not every one that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven.” (Matt. 7:21)
Q. But I pray.
A. “He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.” (Proverbs 28:9)
Q. But, Lord, look at the people who work miracles in Your name. Some heal the sick, others talk in tongues and do many wonderful things; yet they do not keep the Sabbath. What about them?
A. “Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name? And in Thy name have cast out devils? And in Thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: Depart from Me.” (Matt. 7:22, 23)
Q. Yes, I know the Sabbath is right; but my business would suffer if I closed on Sabbath. I might lose my job. I wouldn’t get ahead in the world.
A. “For what shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36)
Q. Well, for myself I wouldn’t care; but what about my family? Wouldn’t it be better for me to work on the Sabbath than to let my family starve?
A. “Your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things; but seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matt. 6:32,33) ” I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.” (Ps. 27:25)
Q. My friends will laugh at me and ridicule me.
A. “Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you…and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely for My sake; rejoice, and be exceeding glad, for great is your reward in heaven.” (Matt. 5:11,12) “If the world hate you, ye know that it hated Me before it hated you.” (John 15:18)
Q. But suppose my own family does not agree with me. Should I go against their wishes, which would mean in some cases a division in the home?
A. “He that loveth father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; And he that loveth son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me: And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after Me is not worthy of Me.” (Matt. 10:37, 38) “So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all he hath, he cannot be My disciple.” (Luke 14:33)

Q. I am afraid I won’t be able to withstand all these trials. I am too weak.
A. “My grace is sufficient for thee; for My strength is made perfect in weakness…When I am weak, then am I strong.” (2 Cor. 12:9, 10) “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” ( Phil. 4;13)
Q. Then, Lord, what is the reward for being faithful to You and the commandments?
A. “There is no man that left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children. for the kingdom of God’s sake, who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come, life everlasting.” (Luke 18:29, 30) ” Blessed are they that do His commandments that they may have a right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” (Rev. 22:14)
Q. Lord, I’m looking forward to a home in the earth made new, will we keep the Sabbath there too?
A. “For as the new heavens and the new earth which I will make shall remain before Me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain; and it shall come to pass that from one new moon to another and from one Sabbath to another shall all flesh come to worship before Me, saith the Lord.” (Isaiah 66:22,23)
Q. Then, Lord, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. With Your help, I will keep the Sabbath.
A. Well done, good and faithful servant.” (Matt.25:21)

Way back in history in the early part of the fourth century, there was an Emperor named Constantine. He made a decree and issued it making Sunday a public festival, a day the sun was revered by pagan worshippers and that same was honored by Christians which is what the goal of Constantine was all along to bring together heathenism and Christianity. Gradually, throughout time, Christians became accepting and to this day most honor Sunday, the first day of the week, as their Sabbath. I was one of them until my eyes were opened. So if you were to ask, which day do you observe as the Sabbath? I would proudly proclaim as a memorial to my Creator, my Father God, that I now observe the true seventh Day, Saturday! I will not go back as I have been directed to the Scriptures that safe-guard me against influences of false teachers. and the delusive power of spirits of darkness.

I’ll leave you with this; We are free to obey whoever we want and whenever we want. But Paul says, “Is he now free to transgress God’s law? Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid; yea, we establish the law.” “How shall we, that are dead to sin live any longer therein?” And John declares, “This is the love of God, that we keep His commandment: and His commandments are not grievous” (Romans 3:31; 6,2; 1 John 5;3) “In the new birth the heart is brought into harmony with God, as it is brought into accord with His law…” E.G.
